Talk Nerdy to Me 2012 Movies of The Year

This year was full of phenomenal movies. The nerd reign hit its peak with Avengers, Amazing Spider-Man, The Dark Knight Rises, and The Hobbit. We could not be happier how this year turned out with all the great movies that spoke to us. Here are each of our favorite movies of the year. Tell us what you think.

Avengers ASSEMBLE!

My favorite movie of the year was easily Avengers. I was asked multiple times this year if I liked Dark Knight Rises or Avengers better. To that I say they're apples and oranges but if I had to choose, like now, I would have to say Avengers. There's quite a few reasons this film is a cut above the rest not withholding my biases. Starting with why I think it's the best movie of the year is because it appealed to ALL audiences, young, old, nerd, jock, whoever. Anybody that I talked to who saw it absolutely loved it no matter what background, nationality, age, or sex they were. This is something that Disney does well as weird as it is to say. As a hardcore Marvel fanboy I could care less that it doesn’t follow the original Avengers comic exactly, in fact it would have been horrible if they had. It's because Marvel has created a universe of its own in which these characters are slightly different but all the more viable. This was the perfect climax to the build all of the previous Marvel produced films. What's even better is that you didn't have to see any of the other films to know what's going on. In fact this is what may have got you hooked and wanting to see the previous movies. Marvel chose the perfect director for the task to lead the exceptional actors for their roles. Everybody had their moment to shine. This is a movie I will watch over and over. All these reasons and more are why Avengers is my favorite and in my opinion the best movie of the year.
